We thought we’d share a couple of techniques we use to conduct our AdWords campaigns.

Using the Google Insights for Search Tool, we can track the number of searches being carried out for any particular search term.

The chart below shows the search histrory for the “Commercial property Manchester” search term. We can see from this the drop in interest in property well before the recession truly hit.

This kind of insight allows us to reduce bids on our clients’ keywords which saves money without effecting traffic performance.

In recent weeks our team of geeks and nerds have been locked in a dark room deep inside BDM Towers. They were told not to show their vitamin D deprived faces until they came up with an e-Marketing system that would knock the socks off anything else in the industry. Earlier this morning our head geek slouched his way into the office and announced that the time had come. The system was complete.

The new system gives our clients so much more control over their campaigns. Of course, we still look after all of the boring, techy stuff such as designing the email and carrying out spam testing but this level of access is so flexible. Here is a list of things our new system allows clients to do in real time:

• See who is opening the email
• See what parts of the campaign people are interested in
• See who forwarded the email on to a friend
• See who unsubscribed
• See the email addresses which the email bounced to
• See who marked the email as spam
• Manage subscriber lists
• Access other contact details such as telephone numbers so leads can be immediately followed up
• Oh, and it all looks beautiful too!
